Andhra Chagodi – Corrected Clear Description
Andhra Chagodi is a traditional crispy savoury snack from Andhra Pradesh, distinct from ribbon pakoda. It is shaped into small twisted loops or knotted rings, not flat ribbons.
It is prepared using a seasoned dough of rice flour and gram flour, which is hand-twisted into loops and then deep-fried until golden and crunchy. The flavour comes from red chilli, cumin or ajwain, and sesame seeds, giving it a mild to medium spicy, savoury taste with a satisfying crunch.
Andhra Chagodi is especially popular during Sankranti, Diwali, and Ugadi, and is commonly served as a tea-time snack or festive savoury in Andhra households.
